Can I install an aftermarket Tach on my 97 4.6L? I dont like not having a tach on my vehicles. Has anyone done this before? Is it easy to wire in?

Probably the best solution is to find a factory cluster with a tach in it. The OEM cluster is usually more accurate than an aftermarket tach. If you want an aftermarket one though, they are pretty easy to install. The Wal-mart where I live carries some for as little as $35. You just mount it on the dash and run the wiring through the firewall.
