I say dual 3.5" slashed rolled in front of the passenger rear tire. Like this:

Dumped is when you turn down the tailpipe under the truck, so no exposed tips or tailpipe.

I cut out all 4 and put in hi-flos. Love the sound and no CEL. If i did it again though i would just cut the back two off. Its a cheaper way and a lot easier, with about the same effect.

So if I cut /gut the back ones not the one in a angle I will get no CEL and still pass smog?

You won't get a CEL, dunno bout passing them tests yall gotta do though...sucks yall gotta do those
