I can't even find a motorcraft part number for the CV axle boot kits. All I can find is for newer trucks.
Only thing I find online is china crap.

I've done it.
I'm picking up what you are putting down but, a wrecking yard closer to me than the nearest walmart has the whole correct axle assembly for $230 OTD and sitting in the truck bed. That one only has 117K miles and they will guarantee that it is good, mine has 309K.
Looks like install next weekend.
He's taking it off on Monday. Dude also said if I wanted both CV axles add $15 but no guarantee on those, He said "it's only 2 nuts to get the axles off too, $15 if you want em too". I said "2 nuts have cost me a lot so far so naw". He said " Ha, ain't that so".

Didn't see this post, posted about the same time. Yeah that works if you can get one close. I could not.

Never had to replace just the boots. Both shafts yes..That was my fault...ran it 4wd while in storage and on jack stands. Ripped a boot, drivers side. Replaced both half shafts w/motorcraft rebuilds.
