I've never seen anything like that. Seems like they would have some measure of tissue damage.

Guess I've seen ducks freeze in the ice when I was a youngster. Got yelled at for stretching a ladder across the ice mounting a rescue. Then again later when dad found out I donated his Eastwing brick hammer for the cause

Yep , that's around Zeeland between Holland and Grand rapids. 10* F feels like -21* F out there. Wind is at 16 mph gusting 26 mph. Suppose to get worse. Going be like this for a week or so.
