That Ecto-1 car that I worked on over the weekend has lights on the front of it (he's also a cop, so he has permissions) and that was fun pulling the bumper cover off, lol.

Back. That didn't take long. Man there is a shiii-ton of these trucks in the yards now (11-16 SD's). Really wanted to the full power mirrors that this truck came with (on the sticker)...guy reneged on the price once I got there. He said I heard him wrong. What could I say but yeah, I never hear a good deal wrong. No mirrors today...those were pretty good though @ $800 per side. Gotta have a full power set, huge time saver for adjusting on the fly to the situation in the middle of the road. High traffic and construction can make it tricky. Not getting out the truck to make pass side mirror adjustments with a trailer on back..it's the telescopic settings that screw yuh w/o memory settings.

I'll find them for a fair price eventually. Hope the Forcsan is easy to work with for those. should be if the truck came with the mirrors from the factory originally. Bumming today...the little hurdles become big ones with this truck it seems. Attempting to get everything right on it if I can.

Are those the extend-o mirrors? I like those. Hopefully the Forscan will work for them when you find a deal. Have you looked at LKQ?

I went out a messed around until it started to rain. I think I got it pretty dang close. Think I might clear the fender.... it's not as shiny as I'd like.

When the rain decided to stop after 5 minutes, I got the A/C "professionally" discharged. Also got the cowl and wipers all back in order.

I'll probably end up ordering all new hoses for it.

I have recyclers White, R12 and R134a so far
Next time maybe shoot up here to Roy and I'll recycle and evacuate it for free
I might not go the 10k for a R1234yf recycler (yet)
Hard job, the AC compressor on that particular truck

Sounds like a plan... much appreciated, Manic!

I was looking at it last night, and it looks like the only way out for the compressor is to remove the idler arm and "hopefully" just swing the front steering stuffs downward to gain clearance. I've been needing to measure the holes on the idler anyway, so this will also give me that opportunity. I keep forgetting that front end work is also on the list of projects for this summer. I already have Moog inner and outer tie rods for it. Just need the idler arm stuff.

i felt so bad last night, coming home from work i came across an accident right after my pager toned. I had the ranger and i have no gear in it for closing the road off, thankfully the other lieutenant got there with his truck so i was able to help get set up before i headed home ( I had food in the truck from the store)
