The stars never quite aligned. I think one of the times was when my Wife had Covid, IIRC.

Did you ever go on any of your SLC trips, Ohio?
I'm not familiar with the place, Whitey.

Rearranged the garage last night to get the hoist out from under the bike platform.
Going to put the Vette up in the air and drop the oil pan.

I made a short video pulling it out last night.
What do you think, sound like a hurt engine?
I hear a ringing noise @ 28 seconds as the engine passes over the camera.
You can faintly hear it as I back down the driveway.

I hear the ringing sound, Phil. It sounds too crisp and clear to be something internal to the engine, in my opinion. It almost sounds like something bouncing off of a pulley or something like that. Strange, to be sure.

I had soft metal pieces in the oil when I drained it.
Not thinking I am going to be happy with what I find.

But won't know till I take it apart.

Ha, no it's a #'s matching LS5 454 4-speed convertible with A/C and the rare vinyl covered hard top.
I narrowed it down to a two-digit car, less than 100 produced with these options.
This engine will get fixed.
I might put a little more cam and a set of headers.
I am concerned my uncle didn't use oil that had high levels of zinc and the cam could be damaged.

Kinda sucks I am pulling apart an engine with only around 1500 miles on it in the last 13 yrs.

Sure was a lot easier to work on with the body off.

Well, if you insist, Phil.
I guess since it's a numbers-matching big block, you have a point.
