Yes, however, I stick it on the strut as well as the rotor to get a measurement. Since it can pivot on the strut (to knuckle) bolts, I try to get it as close as possible.
EDIT: I really like that, Manic. I have this thing I found on Amazon.... but I'm not exactly sure that I like it much.

RE: 10th Gen Alignment... good friggin luck with that. It's either you go with adjustable uppers, those cheap camber kits that I'd never trust or live with it and just rotate your tires often to even out wear. Honestly, I've had back to back alignment done, there isn't a streering or suspension component I haven't replaced on my 99 2wd, and there's still a slight shimmy at 35-40mph the truck has always had even with different tires, wheels and spindles. I've tightened the steering box, tried toeing in, and the truck still pulls with any crown or dip in the road, feels loose then tight and it's just the nature of these trucks, they're near impossible to get dialed and have a steering box.
Just bought 10 of these OE Bosch 0280155710 Injectors to rebuild for about $60. I figure at least 8 will be functional and flow match... then testing the adjustable fuel pressure regulator, and mapping the air/fuel ratios can begin.
Excellent... how do you like those? So weird to see the IAC up front like that, and the intake runners sweep so far back on my 99 you can barely reach the rear injectors, they're right up against the firewall. With the angle of that photo you can see the engine really does sit pretty far back under the firewall, what year is that?
took the ranger out to what will probably be the only show it gets to this year. It was a memorial service / car show for the Napa rep for the Ford dealer who passed away very unexpectedly a couple weeks ago
Mannnn.... how cool was that! Was that the same guy you talked to about a year or so ago ?
Recall you mentioning it..that he might take you up.
Good memory for the cool stuff like that
It was absolutely incredible! And yes, same guy. I waited too long then and he was already in Tucson for the winter. Caught up with him a couple of months ago. I'm planning to go up again after he's back in the spring.
I stuck a wannabe GoPro above the front panel and got footage of the whole flight from startup to landing. I'm going to edit things down to include the aerobatics and anything else interesting. Will post a link in a couple/few weeks.
