Well for **** sakes... didn't know you were given a timeline too. I remember the health issues and diet changes, but somehow missed the 5 to 10... or I plum forgot.
I asked and they did. Actually, average was 5 years at the time. 10 was max w/o a transplant or a PM. No biggy, I'm good with it.
Regret I said that. Bills going through chemo, that's difficult to stomach. Sounds like it's working though which is excellent to hear.
Over and above, Sir White..Thx to others too.
MIne ( I forgot to.say, "XLT," Aug '00, so, '01,) were not vented. I'll conclude some earlier/budget XLTs simply lost out.
My first task 5(?) yrs ago was rear axle tube (ETC) sanitizing, and axle(S) and (ETC) total replacement. (Heck of work by hand-only on these cheap rolled axle tubes.) IOW, the shyster slapped an axle in, traded it in, it hit a big auction house. Were I more year/gen aware, at the time, I would have moved to the new 6 bolt pattern, starting w the rears, for wheel selection.
X3!
Better than mine, which is now 4-9 yrs this month (anniversary) ....unless I go meet with the Tok'ra. Yeah, that ain't happening.
No - my 5-10 started ~ a year ago too, so, also 4-9. My first chemo put me.down 3 weeks. No suffering - just no fun. No energy to write. Barely any to read email. Other after-treatment weeks weren't so bad. This one follows a Covid related cough from phlegm it left in my head, that slowly drained later. I recently gave up and got antibiotics.
Aat 72, and MY family's longevity, natural causes or cancer is a wash. Ignoring John Ritter, and serious athletes who are dying at 30-40, there's so many I see leaving us at 60 when I skim the daily "news."
Test at 55. 45 if any male in your mom or dad's line wore a diaper in his last months. That's all...
EDIT; Of course if you are 30-60... 5-10 is a whole different mess, and a greater shame. Hopefully youth adds and an edge.
This is a longish Popular Mechanics' story about 2 45 year old brothers, that advocates smart watches for health. It & my well off eldest are Apple. I am android. Apple has lead in this area, historically. Might get an android version. Lack of exercise is a real problem for me when some chemo treatments sap energy. My Drs would like 30 min a day... even if it's only walking. I can only on rare days. And shortness breath is not uncommon. Maybe I need a new GP. (See the story.) HR on a watch might be telling. https://www.popularmechanics.com/tec...ong-your-life/

Link is members only. Definitely can relate ...also my Mother is into those Smart watches. .
Chemo used to be a lot worse... And some folks have radiation on top of that. I suspect that's when the in between treatment period is really awful. I ONLY have chemo, and way mucho lack of energy. Otherwise, it's really not bad at all. Something between being on bed-arrest and house-arrest. Sometimes I can shop. During a few treatments, I could even drive. I was never a good couch surfer.
Problem is, you have no energy to measure discs, drain a radiator for fresh antifreeze, and lil things like that, which bring the simple joy of basic vehicle maintenance which we enjoy. I have some 7-yr(?) 100,000 mi pink antifreeze waiting. I'm planning on some of this light maintenance, after my last chemo wears off.
But we are so lucky! So many suffer so so much more. Those in an iron lung never get even half of a hug when they get visited at Christmas. Others do not get 5-10... but 3 mo to a year. So, Brew and I are, ok. I do have a couple mechanics who I will have do anything like brakes. Small shops, so I can at least watch and kibitz. Not cheap, but I get the family discount. 😉

Yep, there's always those who are worse off...Never want it to get to a point where someone would have to take care of me. That would be the worst imo....a burden.
I got a call at 1:30 a.m. this morning from my daughter. She was getting on the freeway (actually right by Dave's Auto Center) and her accelerator pedal dropped to the floor. Over the phone, I was able to diagnose that the cable had broken it's retainer that holds it in the bracket. So, I grabbed my zip tie drawer (I really do have one) and drove 45 miles to get it and bring it back home.
It's ugly, my work is sloppy, but the damn thing got me home.
I called around this morning trying to locate a new one. Everywhere around here says it's on backorder, and Larry H Miller had a note that there was an issue with the tooling. My guess is that this is the same company that makes the OEM Ford clutch cables that Maximum Motorsports sells - but have not had in stock for several months.
Anyway, this is plan C.... or D.... maybe E? Hell... I dunno. I'm running on 2 hours of sleep.
I made my own clip for it. The notch isso I could out my giant channel locks and give if the old "one two, squeeze. Also put a little epoxy on it for good measure.
The final/temporary product...
This place says they have one on their page, but I haven't received a confirmation yet.....
Well, 5-10 is the standard spiel. I will "dwindle," the Drs term, when I pressed him for details. That was a year+ ago. Not quite done with 10 chemo treatments, at which time I assume I'll get another cat-scan and we'll have a better idea. But st 72, a prognosis of 5-10 might have added a year, lol. But I also figure the last half, I may be unfit to drive. SO many seemingly healthy folks dropping at 60...
I really hate to hear that, but you seem to be in pretty good spirits no matter how you cut it. My best friends mom is fighting cancer for the second time, pancreatic and abdominal lining, she was supposed to be gone after 3 months but at almost 2 years later she is still hear and her numbers are getting better. I know I'm just a random guy on the internet but I hoping the best for you man.

that's exactly what we got last night. Another 4 inches last night with all the thunder and lightning it could muster.
