Still deciding, you guys think this is a good purchase? I'm thinking $7000 - $7400 would be good. It's FX4 but every VIN decoder I find says something else on max towing... either 5000/4000 or 7700.... http://www.carsforsale.com/used-cars...a-ny-251019013

I just wanted to throw this out there..

I have a 99 XLT 2wd 4.6 with 212k miles. Got it with 177k, before a month ago it ran perfectly. I'm ordering a new set of plugs, coils, and wires and it should be again.

I'd pay someone for a second opinion and get them to check the engine and tranny well. Mine are very solid.

Since I have had it, I have had to replace.. Alternator, A/C, entire cooling system. Thats it!!

I do all the normal maintenance but it has never left me stranded, those are the only 3 things that "broke" and for a 16 year old truck with 212k miles thats pretty darn good!

3 years and probably $1200, thats like 3 car payments for most people. If someone else checks it REAL good and approves I'd get it.
