Well, if your not using Roadtech yet, keep an eye on it, you can score BIG and quite frequently! They are usually stingy with time off though, often it's 3 weeks on 7 12's and then a 4 day leave. But they'll fly you home or anywhere and back for free. You just have to be reliable as hell lol. There are also levels of per diem to encourage moving your family with you. Some assignments match scale wage dependent upon your skill level. But yea, the best thing about that it's Tax Free. You can make some mad cash as a road warrior.

Anyway congrats, sounds like your off to a good start.
Hey thanks man. And I actually didn't use that service you sent me. I did some research on drilling companies in Montana where I want to move and found Bertram drilling. They specialize in Geothermal work. Geothermal is new to me but all I've done for the last 10 years is drilling, it's my specialty, what I'm good at and frankly all I know how to do. The trick is to find a good company to hire on and grow with. They started me out a bit low pay wise till they can see my work and it only gets better from here. Hourly and per diem raises will come once I've proven myself. Seems to be coming along nicely.

Sounds good man, glad to hear things are going well for you. My company has luckily been on a lull so I haven't had to travel the last 10weeks, boy do I enjoy getting paid to work from my house

What's up thinkers? Spent my day working around the house and me and my Buddy changed the trans fluid in the little beer can. It was pretty funny listening to the guy at O'Reilly try and tell my Buddy about transmissions. It all started with "I think your Yaris has a sealed system" and it spiraled downward afterwards, LOL.

One bit of info for any of you Toyota owners.... my factory CD player is a giant underpowered POS - made by Fujitsu Ten. Upon reading deeply into it, I discovered that the head unit out of Scion's are built by Pioneer and are supposedly plug and play, including the AUX jack in the center console. It has preamp outs, and IPOD control.... should you own an IPOD.

Anyway, I just bought one on the 'bay. It's worth rolling the dice. Hopefully what I see is real, lol.

You can land some pretty cool work. The last job I was on before cashing in (semi retiring) was a 3 year project in Indiana. For the most part, all I seen for awhile was corn corn corn and crazy old men in crop dusters lol. That was one project you could easily get lost on. Terrible cell service, communication network sucked. Road signs missing lol. It was an experience.

Lol, - you got that right. We would get new hires all the time calling in quite often, "I don't know where the hell I am, all I see is corn, corn ever where I look and I can't see over this stuff...it's huge"!
They found their way eventually. It took awhile on those overcast days...and when they were without a compass. A moment of entertainment lol.

Lol yeah sometimes after harvest it's like driving thru a different state, all of a sudden you can see for miles... well it's still cornfields for miles and miles but now you get tree lines once in a while

LMAO.

And yes the scenery change was sort of mind blowing.

I was guiding a few in for awhile...I broomed that job quickly (actually that was a multi mutual agreement). But came up with a way that worked MOST of the time. Climb the nearest corn tree, not all the way to the top, you will fall (which meant get to a higher elevation). Look for the water tower. When you see it, which letter on the tower is square to your position ? Repeat, repeat, repeat..."OH, the one in the middle?" Yes, that's the one. I could guide them from there, but most went all the way back the water tower and started from the little gas station in town. That was phase one, getting guys and gals to the their correct orientation site.

Some of those folks had driven quite a ways, some non-stop by the looks of things and....well I won't go there.

Had a lot of fun myself lol.
