Dedicate at least 20% to the voip phone if you use a phone a lot.

One thing to keep in mind is that VoiP can have a noticeable latency when talking to other people, particularly if your internet connection doesn't support QoS. Another factor is bandwidth usage at the time of the call and what kind of service you are getting.

Just a quick summary which may not make any difference to you.
We have VoIP at work, but we a have 1GB service. It sometimes produces an echo, but for the most part it does well. My home service is going to be 40 megabit DSL service, which unfortunately, is the fastest service available there unless I switch to Comcast.... who is notorious for jacking with their pricing.

Good call on checking with the QoS. The service I have now is also 40 megabit DSL, same provider. BUT, to achieve the 40 megabit at the new house, they are pairing to lines together... which is called bonded DSL. It sounds like you may already be aware of that service though, lol. They are giving me a new router for it, so I'd better scope that out too. After seeing that I have purchased (not rented) my last 3 routers, Century Link just decided to give me a new router for the bonded.

The QoS on regular DSL modem is good, but I need to look at bonded DSL and see if it's any different.

EDIT: Found the QoS on the Actiontec Q2000

LOL.... you two.

I could tell stories of Utah drivers, and their inabilities to use turn signals.... that is some slow learning. I used to have road rage tendencies when I'd get cut off. I had a test at that today, and I passed. LOL

LOL.... yeah, Utah has a few 80 zones. One of those will be my new route to work. I've already had warnings that idiots go under 70 and set up road blocks (car in all 3 lanes going the same exact speed). My road rage tendencies might make a reappearance. Must get birdie finger ready to use.
