1st time here so hope I make some sense.

I have a 2000 ford that is making a tapping noise when I accelerate. It still makes the noise when I come to a constant speed but not as loud when accelerating. I have switched to the synthetic blend oil because it has over 100k miles on it. The noise did not seem to go away.

Any advice?

Could be sticky lifters perhaps. Try running some STP oil treatment thru the engine to see if that helps any.
