Ok, so my dad just bought a 1999 screw 2wd. I am wanting to buy a tailgate step for him, and found one that is also a bed extender. I live 1200 miles away so I can't go measure the width of the tailgate to know which size I need to buy. Can anyone help me out and let me know? I can't seem to find that dimension anywhere.

 

if its a super crew it will not fit because our super crews have the flare side which makes them to small for the newer tailgates to fit. I tried before and it don't work at least if yours is like mine it won't. if you have the none flareside then it should work

 

My mistake. I meant to say it was a super cab. I myself have the screw.

 

oh then yes it'll fit, an why don't you ask where ever your gettin it from to measure it for you

 

The company I found has a few different options for width. I am just not sure how wide the tailgate is on that truck.

 

If get a 2008 to present super duty tailgate with step , it is a direct bolt on.
Here is my 2002 supercab with that setup.
