Default Tailgate Lights

Hey guys, I have a 2003 f150 fx4. A year or two ago, I bought a tailgate light bar and I'm tired of it, it looks tacky and some of the bulbs are dimmer than others, and also the progammer on it is messed up and when I press the brake and the blinker at the same time, the damn thing spazzes out. Anyways, I'm looking to downsize. I kind of want something like diesel trucks or duallies have under their tailgates. I looked at a small selection at te local auto zone but I think the ones there were meant for a trailer and would not fit good in the space between the tailgate and the bumper and allow the tailgate to still function properly. Any suggestions?

I personally never cared for lights under the tailgate. I just never understood the point of it. If it were me, I'd take it all off and leave them off. There's not alot of room under the tailgate to put anything other than thin lights like the LED bar's and still have the tailgate to work.

I'm not sure but I think some of the superdutys came with the lights your talking about. If you can find a donor truck that would be cheapest. Or try the stealership. I'm pretty sure if a superduty can fit one there then so can you

Well, I have just always liked lights, in my opinion, the more lights the better. Except for this tail lightbar. I've got the raptor style lights in my grille and I think adding three reds under the tailgat would complement the lights in the grille.

That is a pretty amazing deal!! But it looks sorta thick, ya think? Would the tailgate be able to open/close properly after installing these?

I just looked at close up pics on the eBay store and it looks pretty thin compared to the factory ones. I just ordered one, I couldn't help myself. Probably end up doing a write up on it when I get it. I'm almost positive it will fit.

Be sure to let me know how it goes! If it fits, I will definatly get me one! I looked a little into the manufacturer of them, and they are made for trailers, thats for sure.
