Default Swapping in v8 to replace a bad 6 cyl

Trying to help out a friend here. Can the trans from the v6 be used behind 5.4l v8 ? Also aside from the obvious what other problems could pop up in this conversion?

This was asked like 2 days ago, and countless other times. I wouldn't even try swapping those 2 engines. It's not going to go over well. Too many different parts. Also, if it's the 5 speed, no. If it's the 4r70w, then I'm pretty sure it will work with the proper bell housing.

Ya if ur swapping in the v8 then u have to change the wiring harness and computer over as well and who knows what else will have to be changed to fit the new motor, sounds like more hassle than it's worth

This is not a swap for someone with a thin wallet.

Good luck to your buddy. Hopefully he has a second vehicle he can use when this project drags on longer than expected.

Ur going to need to swap the same computer And wiring harness from that v8 u are swapping to the vehicle, u could in theory swap in a wiring diff harnes and computer a long as it is from a v8 but then u are going have to have it flashed and have the vin and vehicle data learned to that computer but if u swap the harness and computer from that same v8 u are swapping in the u can get away with out the flash, normally when u are going to swap a diff motor in than what was in a vehicle u almost need the the entire vehicle the motor is coming out if so u have a donor vehicle to swap necessary parts from and ya this defiant it isn't the thing to do on a budget
