It's almost a direct switch, but you have to change one of the mount escutchens with the newer style used on the SD's. Other than that, no problems that I've run into.

That tailgate looks great without the SD written out on it. That is how I would do mine if I decided to go that route. It does look good. Nice job.

Could the lock be worked on in the new tailgate so it would work with your same truck key?

Most likely, the lock cylinder on the tailgate handle just slides out, I think if it is similar to the SuperDuty's you can just put it in the new handle.

Yes your lock will work in the new Superduty tailgate with no issues. It is a direct swap.

No a supercrew uses a flareside gate which is narrower

No. A supercrew has a 5.5' bed, standard is 6.5'
