Super 44 vs Original 40 Drone
If I run 2 high flow cats to 2.5" true duals, H pipe, and dumped after the axle with either 2 Super 44's or 2 Original 40 series, which would have more drone? I want to upgrade my exhaust to something louder. I want it to be loud and rumble a good bit, but not the kind of loud that makes me wanna drive off a cliff on a long trip. Any input is appreciated.

Hey I have the original 40 and I'm the loudest f150 around where I live, also my understanding is that the higher the number with flowmaster, the higher the muffling power, 40 series are the loudest and 50s are quieter, they have a map of interior and exterior noise level on their main site on the top of the menu. I think the only thing louder than flowmasters is straightpipes. If u look under this thread of 1997-2003 look for the "My Burnouts" thread and u can hear my exhaust, if u pm me to remind me I can make u a video of revving and driving interior and exterior with my flowmaster

Also with my original 40, it roars when u get on it and when ur rockin around the city so people know ur still there but when I'm on the highway, the overdrive is just right so that at 64 where the engine drones in the cab the loudest, the wind noise is enough to not hear it much at all when ur at speed

id like to hear a flowmaster on a 5.4. dont think i ever have. i got a cherry bomb extreme on mine and i like it a lot, everyone sure does seem to like flowmaster though. are the 40's or 44's really even that loud? cause i can tell you right now my truck is way louder than my friends' trucks who have 40 series. but they have them on chevys.
