has anybody here tried the heat gun method on their door panels?

If your talking about the tops of the door panels I found a magic eraser works very well at removing all of the rotted plastic. I went back and actually waxed it and it came out perfect. You lose some of the texture but it's completely smooth. I would try this before you take a heat gun to it.

Those things work wonders on the faded plastic. It's like night and day.
