Default Sudden Drop in Gas Milage

I've got a 97 f150 2wd with 4.6L V8
Its been getting a roguhly 16-18 MPG for years
Then these past few weeks I got 10 miles to the gallon filled it up again and still 10 mpg
Though it might be leaking fuel- checked it and nope
clean air filter
fairly new plugs and wires
No idea how what caused this problem
any thoughts???

it was -10 to -20 out and I know that will effect the gas milage but i've never had this problem before. I disconnected the battery and let the computer reset and it seems to be working better now. Just looking for other things to check to be sure.

I only get about 12 to 13 on good weeks, lately its been closer to 10/11 in mine with 4.6 and 4X4 but not in 4 wheel drive much at all. If you are getting 16 that is really good

I have a 2001 f-150 that is a 4x4. Althought I have a 5.4 in mine I experianced the same type of problem. People told me that it was do to cold weather and winter gas. The most recent thing that I had done to my truck was I had Ford change the spark plugs. You may want to check and see what type of plugs where in the truck versus what went back into it. Check this and see if it helps.

Those are definetly some factors that affect gas mileage.... how much? i dont think anybody could tell you but it will nock off some of the mileage you are used to.
