i really dont like the low, paint matched plastic front bumper on my 2003 STX, aside from being kind of low, it makes mounting tow hooks not possible. its too "sporty" and cute for a big 4x4 truck in my opinion, itd be better suited on a lowered 2wd truck of that kind.

im hoping you guys can share come pictures of your stock front bumpers from this generation of truck (preferably with foglights as i want to keep them) and tow hooks

im just lookin to see all the different design bumpers that they used through the years of this gen truck.



and also if anyone has any info on what years bumpers are interchangeable with what years.. meaning is it even possible to mount a 98 on a 2003, etc...

sorry not a good picture, but it's the only one I have of the truck when it still had a stock bumper. if you want to put a 98 bumper on your truck then you have to replace the entire grill surround with it

All bumpers from 97-03 f150s, 97-99 f250 LD, and 97-02 expeditions will work on our trucks. There are basically 3 different bumpers and 2 of them require a different grille

questions :

what do you mean by "grill surround" ?
is that all the trim that surrounds the grill and headlights?
im not lookin to go crazy here, just want to get rid of this for a real bumper with tow hooks , not too picky

also could you include which year truck yours is if you post pics

it looks like the first 2 (general and reaper) are the same , and then nicks is different

You can go to LMC truck.com and view their online catalog. They show all the 97-03 +04 heritage f150's. You're going to want the 99-03 +04 heritage valence, which will bolt right in.

If you go to the 97-98 bumper and valence, ya you'll have to change the grille surround which goes around the headlights. not reccomended from me because I think the 99-03 bumpers and grille looked better than the 97-98.

97-98 had chrome bumpers and 99-03 had the black bumpers. Personally I like the chrome because it adds character to the truck and break up to the color
