Starting Problems
Ok - engine rebuilt and replaced a couple years ago. Lately, when I try to start - nothing. Everything works- so I know I'm getting power - but the engine does nothing. If I shift to low and then back to park - it starts. Been doing that for a couple weeks - I don't drive it that often. Then Saturday - it doesn't start. Ok - shift to low then park - again nothing. Tried it three or four times before it finally started. Once it's started - it runs great.
Is there a connection that has to be made in park to allow it to start?
any help would be appreciated.
Oh - 97 F150 with a 4.6 Windsor engine

Sounds like a problem with the neutral safety switch.

Probably the PRNDL switch, AKA transmission range sensor (TRS). That also acts as the neutral safety switch.
