why did you have so many fuel system components replaced? If the mechanic was going after something fuel related i'd check throttle position sensor, sounds like the truck is trying to start in clear flood mode.

I replaced the pump this weekend. No luck. I checked the fuse, tested the fuel pump relay in the fuse box how everyone says to (put finger on it, turn ignition on, and feel if it buzzes or clicks on) It DID. So I figured it was good. Replaced the pump, listened for it to come on and heard nothing.

Decided to change the relay even though it passed the test earlier.

That thing fires right up now!

Don't trust the relay is good because it clicks on!
I wish I would have spent that $15 before that $180 on that pump!

Good luck to you all!

heyy guys, so it seems like im having the same issues you guys are. I was driving my truck(97 4.2L V6) all afternoon it was working fine. had multiple startups from a few different destinations. had her stall on me once. motor did a weird jump then stalled while i was sitting at a light, but she started right up again.

I got her back home and decided Id take a look and see if a had a vaccum line break or something, explain why she stalled. I had shut it down while I took stuff inside my house, came back out, fired it up, opened the hood and went looking, I found a split hose that attaches right under the throttle body, and runs back to the passenger side valve cover. she stalled when I moved the split hose ( im assuming from too much vaccum loss). anyways replaced that piece of hose. tried to start her again and nothing, cranks, sounds like she has spark but no fuel. the fuel pump seems to be priming. fuses are good and my fuel filter is new as of 2 weeks ago.

I'll replace the fuel relay, and check my regulator in the morning.

but do you guys have any other suggestions?
