Then it was time for a trial fit.

... and a couple coats of bedliner spray.

The black looked a little out of place in the truck...

... so I had some paint mixed up to match the interior trim. It turned out just a *little* bit darker, maybe, but is so much better.

Finally it was time for... umm.. final assembly.

First, I attached the mesh that would keep things from rolling under the box never to be seen again.

A bit of fiberglass went into the enclosure next, followed by this...

Kenwood Excelon KFC-XW10

I selected this sub for it's shallow mounting depth (5" when top-mounted), specifications, required enclosure size, and reviews. The fact I also found it on sale/closeout for only $50 may or may not have contributed to the decision.

Into the box it went....

... and into the truck went the box.

I used 4" socket-head screws to attach the box to the seat brackets. For the storage side you can see I was able to simply use an acorn nut to secure it. On the enclosure side, a T-nut is mounted in the enclosure wall, and the threads sealed up with RTV.

Was this necessary? Eh, maybe not. The seat would likely have held it in place, but I like the idea of something mechanical, as well. Will it hold the box in a roll-over? Let's hope we never find out! But this *will* keep it from sliding around at all, as well as keep the storage-area wall in place.

I set my amp levels and EQ last evening, and am really happy with the way it turned out.

Subbed, surprised I hadn't already done so earlier.

On Saturday I installed a
Stebel Nautilus Compact Truck Mini Air Horn Stebel Nautilus Compact Truck Mini Air Horn
. Install was pretty straightforward, although I would have prefered they include some of the quick connects (at least the ones that attach to the horn terminals).

There was virtually no change in volume (only one dB increase about 3' in front of the truck), but this horn adds a (low) 300 Hz tone, and makes the truck sound more like a truck.

Comparison Video:

EDIT 10/26/17 -- For anyone considering this horn: It crapped out after only a few months. A new Marco "Hurricane" horn is on its way as a replaceemnt. The guy I'm getting this one from quit selling the Nautilus due to having numerous returns due to failure, and recommended this one.

So, I'd been thinking I wanted to replace the headlights with black Lightning/Harley units at some point, but was going to wait until I could more easily justify them. Well, someone on the forum posted a link to a set they'd bought off eBay, and when I curiously clicked, I found there was a 20% off coupon that expired that day. Long story short....

UPS dropped off a box...

One new eyeball, one old.

New lights installed.

Looking good from the side, too.

I rough-aligned them tonight on the garage door using the Hellas as a guide, and the beam pattern looks to be pretty good. I think I'm going to like them.

Of course, Depo fogs would finish out the look, but for now, this will do.

They do suit it very well, glad you like them after seeing them on mine.. lol

Only thing I'm going to look for is a set of silver indicator bulbs to replace the orange ones, they do stand out quite a bit
