sputters only when sitting still

Mines a baby just a 4.6 I got the part at NAPA but ill be taking it back tomarrow because it s not the problem ........the other end of the hose where it plugs into the intake has a hole in it ......when I cover it with my finger it runs perfect....when I eemove my finger it sputters and dies

Ummm I just bought a Pcv valve for my 5.4 today at oreilys and it was $1.69. Is there a difference between the 4.6 and 5.4 Pcv valve?

Replaced hose....still throwin codes and now it jerks when I let off the gas
