Spark Plug Trouble
I have a 2002 v8 and have recently been having a problem with a couple of my spark plugs getting wet due to what I think would be the rain. I took my truck to a friend and he told me they were wet and the only thing I could do was drive it till they dry or get new ones. All in all I'm wondering if anyone out there has had this problem and what they have done to fix/prevent this problem in the future.
Thanks

The spark plugs themselves are probably not the problem. You may have one or more cracked coils, plug boots or wires that are allowing moisture to get in and cause trouble. I would put dielectric grease on the plug boots and any ignition wire connectors that you can access. If that doesn't work, I would look at your coils.
How are your splash guards under the front and in the wheel wells? Are you lifted? If so, have you addressed the gaps created by the lift? The top of the engine should stay dry unless you are U-Boating or trying to surf with your truck.
We have 1997 F-150 and the same thing has been happening. Did you have any luck with the other suggestions? The garage we take it to is perplexed also. He said we could replace the electrical wires for about $160 and that may solve the problem. That maybe the wiring is old and getting wet. They looked at rubber under hood and it seemed to cover well. We have had alot of rain in midwest past couple months. Only started happening with all this spring / summer rain. Help!

New plug wires for your plug wire guys, new boots for your coil packer guys. Coat the outsides of the boots and insides with dielectric grease. This will help seal out moisture.
I'm not really sure how you're getting that much water in the engine compartment to affect the plugs though. What plugs are being affected and are you sure it's not a coolant leak?

If so it prolly not from rain, it prolly from your heater hoses or ac lines that run over the plugs & drip onto the plugs.
