Default Spark Plug Question...

I am helping a buddy out on his 98 4.6 doing his plugs. For his truck per the manual he takes motorcraft awsm-32p plugs. They are identical except the new ones only have half the thread. The old ones are asgw.... Which one is correct? What should i do? Does it matter that it only has half the threads?

Sounds like the wrong plug. The shorter ones won't expose the electrode enough into the cylinder for an efficient burn and can/will cause driveability problems.

Man be real careful because if the plugs are too short and blow out, they will strip the threads and you will have major trouble and $$$$ with that engine.
Plugs too long will damage the piston.
I would go to Ford's part site and see what it says.
I looked and it says
AWSF-32P-P for that truck.
DON'T USE ANYTHING ELSE.
