Default So I have a Speaker question

I'm looking for a decent set of 6x8s, I would prefer to begin "unamped". I have a pretty decent pioneer double din. I cant recall, but I think it's 50x4 so 25w rms ish. I may go forward and dynomat the door frames as well, if it is truly worth it.
I've been looking at a few, bUT I was hoping to score some advice.

Thanks

Depends on budget. Headunit won't put out full power.

I had Polk Audio DB571's in my 2001 & 2014 F150. Great speaker for the price.

If you are just running off the head unit I wouldn't dynomat. I have 2 amps in my truck without dynomat and it needs it depending on the song and volume. If you amp them then dynomat. I don't see you needing dynomat if you are just running off the head unit. Most head units are either 16 rms or 22 rms. That is all I have ever seen.
That won't be enough power to make things vibrate and flex enough to need it. Just my 2 cents

I have 4 of these Pioneer D-Series 6 X 8's, and absolutely love them. I loved them so much that I pulled them out of my Ranger when I sold it and stuck them in my F150. There will soon be a pair going in my Mustang as well.

^X2 installed these in a friends truck. They sound good. They were running off and amp though. 50rms @4 ohms per channel

Mine are running off the deck (also Pioneer). But like you say Rydog, they'd love an amp. I might need to try that out.

Also, I don't know if any of you have used Quick Roof for sound deadening, but it works pretty well. I got a roll at Home Depot for about 20 bucks and did my whole Ranger.

I have heard of it. The only the problem that I have with it is that when you go to take it off and it has been heated and cold over and over it leaves a lot of residue and sucks to get off. It also isn't as heavy as dynomat is but it is a good cheaper alternative.
The speakers really come to life with an amp. I would have preferred to run them off a 75rms @4 per channel amp because that will run the speaker even better and will make it able to keep the gain lower.
