Smoker and stained carpet?

Alright so I picked up an 03 super-cab Lariat on the cheap today(2000 below book) but the previous owner was a smoker and the carpets were pretty stained. My questions are, 1) Is there anyway to totally remove the smoke smell from the cab(it has leather seats)? 2) What is the best method to get stains out of carpet? 3) The leather has what looks like black lines in it from what I assume is age. Is there any way to remove that and or restore? Thanks guys! First F150 and excited to join the fraternity:thumbup1:

the carpet would probably just be easier to replace it http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_trks...arpet&_sacat=0

this is what i am going to do to my truck soon!

and as for the smoke smell best bet would be to scrub the inside plastic pieces with pine sol and then change the carpet and headliner and clean the leather i guerentee you will not smell it anymore.. because every surface it could get into (carper and headliner) are new... you might be able to just spray the headliner lightly with fabreeze and that might help but a good rub down with pine sola nd leather cleaner will help a lot! but i really recomend the new carpets... and go black! easier to keep clean!

You can steam clean the carpet-better to reove it if you're up for the job. Just wash everything else. Leather cleaner on the seats. Smell should diappear. As mentioned febreeze afterwards will also help.

Steam clean the soft surfaces, don't forget to do the headliner. Clean all hard surfaces as well. The smell may have gotten in the vents (HVAC), clean in there as well.

x2 for pine sol or something like that. Murphys makes an all purpose cleaner (not the oil soap) thats great for odors.

Thanks guys, will pick up the febreeze type spray today. As to the steam clean, is that something you have to have done or can you find coin type steam vacums out there somewhere, I have never seen those. If steaming doesnt work, I might go the replacment carpet route. Thanks for all the quick replies!

Some car washes have steam cleaning or you could rent one at Ace Hardware or Home Depot. I used a steam cleaner a few months ago in my truck and the interior looks almost perfect.

When I bought my truck, it smelled pretty bad (like a 12 year old work truck, which it is). I steam cleaned the carpet and seats and it helped alot. The water that came out of the carpet was black.

Below is what I used.

The smoke smell will fade, just keep fresh air in the cab and toss in a airfreshener. I'm a smoker and my truck never smells because i keep air flowing through the cab.
