Shudder in overdrine
Have a 2003 ford f150 5.4 4x4 4r70w with 182,000 miles on him and I've got a shudder when in overdrive at about 50-55 and only in overdrive, I changed the plugs at 155,000 with motorcraft oems and changed cops, has ran great until now, I changed trans fluid and filter at 179,000 with a stock motorcraft filter and mercon v fluid. Now at 182,000 I have a shudder. I changed cops today and still is shuddering, is it the dreaded torque convertor lock-up slip, or something else? Please help. Thankyou

Just have er idle man and start unplugging coils till you find one that doesn't make a difference when you unplug it, I'm almost certaint you have a misfire. When you change that plug and coil make sure there's no coolant or oil or anything in the hole. Make sure your using diametric grease. Good luck

I had the same issue with no codes showing...only in OD when i got down to about 45-50 and went to gas it again. Always in the same spot on the way to work. Finally i got a code and it was misfire on #8. changed the coil and it was solved. 2 weeks later another coil went bad, so i changed them all to non motorcraft coils and have had no issues since.

I checked all the coils at idle by unplugging them but all changed the idle. What to expect now? The shuddering is getting worse aka more frequent

My truck did the exact same thing, no codes no nothing, started unplugging coils, till I found one that didn't make a change in the engine rpm or sound, changed that coil and plug and cleaned the moisture from the hole, and she solved the issue man. Give her a shot
