Not trying to be mean or dumb. But why do you need these to see how to back up? Plus most I see have them where they come on with the factory backup lights. Thus only blinding everyone that is unlucky enough to be behind them.
Guess I'm lucky i'm old and blind but never needed that much light to back up. Even when backing a semi for a few miles on a county road at night.

Have you tried backing up in a lifted truck when's its pitch black in the middle of bfe? The reverse lights literally do nothing for you lol. There have been times I've used a spot light to check behind my truck before backing up, plus my tail lights are aldo tinted so that adds to the already ****ty stock reverse lights

when I do mount reverse cubes, I'm going to do them on either side of the receiver up under the bed where they face down so you'll never see them.

Yes I have a 1979 CJ5 jeep with 12" lift kit. 1980 Ford pickup with 44" tires. And had to back down dark back roads a lot of time's. But then again I never tried to blacken out all my lights where they can't work. Not saying your wrong for doing it. But I have seen 3 wrecks this year alone. Where young people had tented tail lights. That were so dark you can't even see the brake lights in day time. All three got hit, last one was a cop. His camara could not even pick up the brake lights coming on.

I'm curious to see how that works and how far behind the truck the light will shine. I'll probably stick with the 6" above the hitch, it'd be nice for hooking up trailers or loading boats at night too.

have you done it with %15 window tint? My reverse lights are not blacked out but on a dark cloudy night, you can't see jack with these so called reverse lights in the tails. Mine is wired to a switch so I only use it when absolutely necessary, never when other vehicles are behind me

^This. You can't see that thing back there at night. The reverse lights help so much. When you look in the side mirrors, you can actually see what's right behind you which is why it makes it easier to see where the trailer is
