Oh I'm well aware already. I've been looking at their prices for the past few months. And to your question: no. the glass can't be removed from the plastic frame. The dark grey (or light grey on 97/98 trucks) plastic trim that goes around the back window that the third brake light is in isn't affected at all. That's irrelevant to this problem. I'm just going to replace the whole rear slider itself. Which sucks because I just resealed it, so I'll have to buy more butyl tape and do it again.

Actually the glass can be removed from the plastic trim molding. It however cant be removed from the metal frame that gets bolted to the cab. If you resealed the frame and it still leaks I assume you have a sliding window. You will have to replace the window and frame, but the trim (light grey) is reusable. I've already had to do this with my 97.

I know. But thanks. The plastic frame that goes around my glass is what's cracked on my slider. My light grey trim is fine. I've already pulled my window a month or so ago to reseal it. That fixed two of the leaks but it's still leaking through the cracks in the window frame I tried filling in the cracks with some glue but it didn't work out very well apparently. Where did you buy your replacement glass from? Also, the cracks in the plastic frame for my slider are above the left and right hand windows, so it's leaking on the driver side and passenger side, not actually around the slider. Go figure. But I know why, there's cracks at the top of the frame on both sides of the window where it's leaking. Oh well. It's a 18 almost 19 year old window, the production date stamped onto it is September of 96. So it's definitely held up.

Yeah, that's what I was trying to get straight in my head. Have fun with that, glass isn't cheap, 😜.

Thanks man, I was blessed to find it when I did. Bought it Feb 13,2012 ( best Valentines Day gift ever from my wife) with only 116K miles on it. I hope I get as many miles as I did out of my '89 F150 that had the 300 Inline 6 in it, had 337K on not when I traded it. I kick myself in the rear daily for trading it.
