I've answered every question you have asked? You are only 5 years younger than myself(I don't know what age has to do with this) You will get no where here if you are demanding answers and telling people to stay out of your thread unless they are giving you 100% information.. Just saying.

I had several Chevies of this vintage and they were good trucks on par with Ford models of this era with better performance but not as reliable. The one pictured appears to have been lowered so I would definately check the condition and quality of the suspension pieces. Personally I avoid modded vehicles as they can have a lot of surprises.
SBC 350s are good motors and can give good mileage but 3.73s, TH350, and the 650 Holley would probably get you 10-14 tops depending on the cam and intake.
You said the 650 Holley was a Quadrajet replacement. Is it a spreadbore carb or one that was made to match up to the Chevies throttle and tranny linkage.

Well, I was mainly asking the F-150 guys if they thought it was a good trade. It turned a little more mechanical than I expected, although I guess that's something I should have expected.
Oh well.. either way, most of my questions are answered and I feel prepared to make a decision.

Hahaha was wondering where all the Chevy haters were! But nahhh my family and I have owned several Chevys. Sure some vehicles have their issues due to some mistake or design flaw from the factory, but a lot of times problems are caused by lack of maintenance and/or abuse.

If it could be your daily with the occasional tinkering by yourself. I'd do it! I love a good project especially if it keeps me thinking. The rear end is a little low like others said 3.08 would be ideal but if you have another vehicle to offset the cost of fuel I would really do it! Heck I'm trying to find a 1st gen lighting to trade for my screw. And as far as rare maybe that wasn't the correct term. I should have used uncommon as most were long beds. Short beds were not the most popular option when trucks were used for that and not a leisure vehicle like today.

Yeah man, I guess I just misunderstood what you meant! No biggy..
But oh yeah, I was supposed to meet him today, fell through. Supposed to meet him next Saturday or earlier if possible. As long as everything looks good and he'll do the trade, I'm gunna go for it.
The Suzuki gets 45 MPG easy, so heck why not have a nice little truck that gets 12 MPG right?!
Niiice man, good luck with the search for the Lightning. Bet that'd be a fun truck to own!

My question is, why is this guy selling this 83 C10 sb, with 1k mile motor, everything redone on his Chev for your stock 99 Ford F150. It seems, if his was all that great, he would be better of keeping it. His is all redone, yours ??? Why go from a somewhat performance 350 SBC, to a 4.6 Ford modular motor. In the F150, it isn't a high performance, powerhouse, like in a Mustang or Crown Vic's Police Interceptor. If it was in a vehicle you could tune for power, yeah, but not an stock F150. It makes no sense. His must have issues that he is hoping to put on your shoulders. I would seriously reconsider the trade without knowing WHY he wants yours over his TOY. JMO
