Short term P0301 fix?
Having an issue with my work truck, a 2003 5.4L.
Getting coolant in my #1 spark plug well, causing a misfire on cold starts. From reading, it sounds like it's the intake manifold gasket. I'm currently working on a home remodel for the next 6-8 weeks and can't have the truck down to replace the gasket right now. I've got a few spare plugs and coils. Could i replace the plug and coil, and use some high temp RTV (or something else?) around the plug well to keep coolant out to hold me over until I can get to fixing it? The leak is pretty mild, maybe a few ounces of coolant loss per week.

Use Dielectric NOT RTV. The 3M is the best. The engines at a slant, so make sure the dielectric check dams/diverts the coolant so that it doesn't run into #2 , 3 and 4.
Yea guys who mud their trucks seal the plug chambers with Dielectric Grease. Good non solidifying stuff. Like this, -
Fix it right ASAP. That can get much worse quickly. Doubt it's a gasket issue, - most likley a cracked intake or cross-over.

Thank Jbrew. I use the grease and swapped the coil & spark plug with my spares. I'm not getting coolant in any plug wells now. I'm still getting a misfire, but no CEL now. I guess I'll try swapping injectors around.
