Default Short In My Horn

I bought my '02 F150 Lariat and the horn barely works. It sounds like a (Hate to say it but) a choking chicken. Yeah I know. I think the problem is in the steering wheel. I don't want to mess with it for fear of messing up the air bag. or having it go off. Has anyone had this problem? My buddy seems to think I've got a bad ground.

Make sure the horn body is making good contact to the truck body- take it loose, clean any rust, corrosion and reattach, then make sure the connectors are clean as well.

Like 01king said... it you have 12vdc at the horn ...you have a bad horn. Get a multimeter and check voltage at the horn..gonna require 2 people of course...somebody needs to mash the horn in the cab so you can read the voltage.

Hit the alarm button and you can do it alone.

One Horn is High Pitch & the other one is Low Pitch. Try cleaning the electrical terminal on the horn. If you don't have a multimeter to check the wiring, try switching them to verify if the horn is bad.
