Default Shift solenoid?

Ever since i bought my 97 f150 it has had a minor transmission issue. When you go to pass someone it will rev up to 3000rpm and just lose power. Will not pick up speed at all unless you let off and let it up****. Ive had it at 2 shops and its throwing 0 codes other than o2 sensors. My question is does this sound like a shift solenoid and if they were faulty would they throw a code? If i cant figure it out soon ill take it to the dealer. Thanks guys

Was far from any kind of slipping issue, i took it to the dealer and they fixed it. My MAF sensor was pretty dirty and was sending a signal to the PCM to only recieve half fuel under load. They cleaned it up and runs like a bat outa hell now. Hope this helps!!
