Default Shift lever boot replacement

Anyone know how to replace the plastic boot on a 1997 150 automatic?

are you talking about the boot that fills the firewall opening? If so that is part of the cable assy. Also, the cable is transmission specific. You will need to know If you have an "U" (4r70w) or an "E" (e40D). It is stated on your door tag if you don't know for sure. Easy to figure in 97-98, because if it has anything but a 5.4 it's the 4r70w. 5.4.uses the E40D in these years.

I thought he meant the one up on the steering column. As I recall, you have to remove that handle and button assembly to get it off.

Sorry, I was thinking down the column. The upper is available from Ford XL3Z-3D677-AAB. You have to pull the plastics, pull the pin for the shift lever and disconnect the wiring. Then just pop it in
