Default 2000 f-150 alternator

I am replacing my alternator, I have it off the truck now---how do I find out if it is a 95 or 130 amp? there is no tag or marking showing which one I have...

Does it matter? Replace it with a 130 amp alt and be done with it. They're interchangeable.

Agreed, just had a customer in the shop this week, '01 E350 with a 95 amp alt...and high power requirements and dead alternator, I ordered in a 130 and she went in like butter after a pulley swap.

Look at the Housing Face. The 130's have the two hole. The 95's are 4 hole.

Best alternator for these trucks were on the 97/98 Trucks. They were all 3G 130amp Large case. They called them 130amp, but every single one I've tested maxed out @ 165amp.

Unfortunately that changed from 99 - 03, they cheeped out lol.
