I just installed a new a/c compressor on my truck. Went on pretty good. I had it vacuumed down and installed proper amount of r134a. Seams like it is loud when it kicks on. Maybe because it is remanufactured or some thing else. 2001 ford f150 4x4 5.4 v8.

How often?? Every few seconds on and off is usually a sign of low refrigerant.

How does the A/C feel? Is it coming out consistently cold, or is it starting cold and then getting warmer during the on cycle?

Kicking on and off is a sign it's low. You need to put the refrigerant in with the A/C on it will be high pressure till it kicks on then it will like drop in pressure until it kicks off. It's hard to explain but it took me awhile to get the proper amount in. You just need to let it run with your gauge hooked up and add refrigerant as needed. It took me like 10-15 mins.

It wasn't blowing cold air. I just checked and it was low. I ran a lack light on some lines that I could see and don't see any leaks.
