Default self tire change

Anybody ever broke down their own tires and put new/used ones back on? I've got one broke down and off the rim, went and bought the harbor freight portable manual tire changer, tried putting the 285/70/17 firestone destination mt tires I bought back on the rim and can only manage to get it on halfway no matter what I do.....

Is it the first bead or second bead you're having trouble with?

First bead, I can get it half way around the rim and nothing else, tried saving myself some money, but looks like I'm gonna end up going to the tire shop anyways.....

1st use a rubber lube. Soap and water Ive even used just plain water. 2nd its called a drop center wheel becausse the center is not as big around as the beads. Make sure that you push the side you have on down into the center of the wheel and it will pop right on. I have changed many tires on trucks and cars with just a couple of tire irons some times you dont even need to take the wheel off. 3rd are you sure the tire size matches the wheel size?
