No, this FPR provides no feedback to the ECU. It is a manual (vacuum operated) unit, with no sensors of any kind. Don't think Ford started to use that until the Gen 11's.

So yeah, manual gauge is the only way. But, try the hose and Coke bottle trick first. If it spits fuel, it is for sure dead - no gauge needed.

Definitely will try that first. I can easily rent a fuel pressure gauge from autozone too, after that if it doesn't spit fuel.

Yea, they can leak internally as well, it's a return system, fuel goes back to the tank.

Gauges are fairly cheap, the hard part is finding one with a Ford adapter. So which ever way you go, make sure it has a Ford adapter.

So if its leaking internally, then would it take longer to crank because theres no fuel in the system? And if it leaks externally then it goes through the vacuum line right?

I tried to get a video of the start ups today, but my grandma forgot the first start. I recorded the second start today, but the weird thing is is that it smoothed out almost instantly. The only thing I did different was pull off the vacuum hose to the fuel pressure regulator. All of this is really confusing me now. I stuck a q-tip in the hose and nothing came out. The truck also started better the first start today from what she said.

Anything that would have been in the vacuum line is long gone. It will come out of the nipple (where the vacuum line connects) on the FPR.

I keep forgetting that the vacuum would have sucked any fuel out of the line. I need to see if I can find any hose lying around, or I might have to buy some. I'll rig something up and have my grandma put it on the truck, or maybe I can just do it this weekend.

What diameter hose would I have to get to fit around the regulator?
