Default Rock hard brake pedal, brakes started dragging

This truck has had a hard pedal since I bought it but brakes worked fine so I didn't worry too much as I don't go out of town much with it. Well, today the front brakes started dragging to the point of the truck stopping soon after letting off gas without applying brakes and them getting to 300 degrees (with a IF thermometer) on the front, not the rears, really. I suspected the booster so I unplugged it to continue but they still drug on the remaining drive home.
I get it home and jacked up and sure enough, dragging and stink like hot brakes.

OK, now the diagnosing. I let it sit 30 minutes or so, brakes disengage. I start it up, brakes start dragging (it's still on jacks, I'm trying to turn by hand) let it sit...disengaged again. Also tried the pump pedal and start test. Stays hard even when off.
I haven't taken it off jacks as I might take off wheels but I might drive agin to be sure BUT I still suspect booster, I've only ran across this one time before identical and it was booster BUT (again) it was a replacement booster on a truck that was incorrect that time.
I lowered fluid level in case it may have been overfilled but don't believe that's it. (maybe?)
Anyone else ever had this?

front brake hoses? Thanks for tip. Do you mean the stretch is gone and they don't expand anymore? I agree, it's beyond time to replace them with some S/S or at least new rubber if those are too high. I've certainly had them bust when 20 yrs. old and it sucks if not near home so I'm looking at that now laughs. Yeah. mo money mo money.

The lines rot on the inside while the outside looks normal.
Stuck calipers will do that too, when's the last time you serviced them and lubed the caliper sliders?

I carry some vise grips and wire ties in my tool box, along with brake fluid bottle under my hood..
If you ever pop a line just pinch it off wire tie the grips and add some fluid.
It will get you home so you can fix it.

can't find any evidence of calipers being stuck as they move freely. No evidence of it being the hoses but will change them.
Does anyone make a set of SS hoses as a kit?

Ok, is it really likely that both calipers stick together both sides?
I have changed the hoses. New front pads and lubed calipers and moved them back and forth. Thought they acted fine, changed brake fluid out,
Headers wouldn't get the fluid too hot nearby would they?

Ok. so far I have done the parts cannon on the brakes and still have a big problem. They don't drag anymore but the rock hard pedal at slow speeds gives way to a sinking pedal with front brakes locking up or not, with no ABS function, no back brakes and no ABS light on.
I've bled it several times, new hoses, calipers. pads and booster.

Is this the pump stuck maybe?

Might need to bleed the ABS module.
