put truck in neutral, jack the back of your truck off of the ground so that both rear tires are completly off the ground. spin one tire and if they both spin the same way u have limited slip.(it should turn the driveshaft as well) if u spin one tire forward and the other spins backward or vise versa u have an open differential. hope i could help
