Is there any way you can request a cell phone number threw a different carrier that has been disconnected? My buddy dissolved his company and I'm wanting to get his old number. He is not wanting to "reactivate" his number and sign over rights to me. Is there a way I can get it without his help?

I believe you can. I think it depends on the carrier you choose. I could be wrong, but I think each company is given a set of numbers they can use. Some can be transferred to other companies some can't.
My parents switched our home phone company thee times. The first time we could swap the number. The second time we switched we had to get a new number.

I am willing to start a new line with Verizon seeing how I have AT&T. I contacted AT&T and they sain I may possibly new my buddies help. I talked to him today, and even with him walking away from it he still wants money for the line. I am not going to give him money that he basically walked away from.

I mean I can't see him being able to stop you wants he completelu changes his number. I think he forfeits rights to it. Good luck though. Could I ask why you want this number so much and why does he want money for it? Do the numbers spell something cool or what?

It's an established garage door company, he wanted me to buy it but I didn't have the funds, also he was not willing to sign a contract with me on a % profit compensation. He is kinda being a douche about it. He wants cash up front

His reasoning is that it took him 6yrs to build his company and its gotta be worth something...he already WALKED AWAY AND DISCONNECTED HIS NUMBER!!!! Frustrating,I don't want money to ruin the friendship but I took this as a slap in the face
