Default restoration time

Hey guys, im new to this. I have a '01 5.4 King Ranch 4x4 that today has 307k on it. Ford replaced the tranny at 16k. No one but myself has worked on her since! I repaired 2 spark plug holes at about 175k. At around 225k she sprung a intake manifold leak. I took that opportunity to insert the remaining spark plug holes, new valve cover gaskets, coil packs, plugs, knock sensor, water pump, radiator hoses and flush, idler pulley and all new vacuum lines. Oh yea, and 1 dropped fuel injector. Ive also replaced both front hubs and both rear axle bearings. So.....to my present project. One of the internal bearings in the rear axle is about to go. She's screaming pretty loud now. With the millage on top of that, its time to start her restoration. I have looked high and low for a complete parts catalog, to no avail. There are so many number cross references, i cant keep up. I want something that will show me complete assembly reference numbers. So im here hoping one of u grease monkeys can steer me in the right direction. Any suggestions would be much appreciated!

Go out to the web side www.fordparts.com. You plug in your VIN number and then you can find any part for your truck along with diagrams. You can then buy the parts from my relatives at Ford or go somewhere like Rock Auto and most likely get a better price. Hope this helps.

Not a grease monkey or a monkey of any kind as far as that goes. Those guys work at jiffy lube I believe. Btw 5fours don't use coil packs, they never have. Older 4.6L's used them and all 4.2L's . 5fours are a little higher tech (according to the manufacturer) with COP ignition systems. Utilizing individual coils vs a pack or packs. That's 1 dedicated coil per cylinder.

Good luck on your restore William, the outcome can be gratifying for sure.

I've wondered why that is Jbrew. As you know, my mind has been able to wander a lot lately as I stare at the ceiling.... LOL.. Anyway, I was wondering if maybe the 5.4 had sequential efi, and maybe the early 4.6 was a batch fire? Do you know if that is the case? Maybe I was wondering too much, but it sounded good when I was thinking it.

Damn, pretty soon you'll be inventing shiii..

Yea, they were trying to stretch the 4six for all it was worth, hey, it went from taxi cabs into a 150 after rengineering the intake. Car engine meets truck lol. They had bigger plans for the 5fours. Little clues here and there, I guess you could say beginning with the Navigators, in Cobra type fashion.
