Default Replacing Shocks...Tighter The Better

Hey Guys;

I'm new to the forum; new to the pickup world I've got a new project -'98 F150 XLT 4.6 RWD White Step-Side - the guy I bought it from started the mods but couldn't finish it. He started with making it look like an SVT with moulding & side pipes...cool.

I want to continue...I've started with headers, perf muffler and want to jump to shocks. I like the stock setup (not interested in a lift-kit) and have Beltech Sway-Bars on order to tighten up the ride...re shocks: Bilstein 5100, Pro Comp ES9000, or Rancho RSVP9000XL. I think I've narrowed it down, but could be completely missing something here...suggestions welcome/needed!!

Thx guys...

I installed KYB Monomax shocks on mine and couldn't be happier.

I had to look into the KYB's and found this "hands-down" feedback in favor of the Billies...

Can I use the Bilstein 5100's on a stock lift? They're claiming: "Bilstein 5100 Series Shocks are designed specifically for lifted pickups, SUVs and Jeeps"

Choosing from the 3 you listed Bilstein 5100 by a land slide!

Best shocks for ride and handling are QA1 adjustble gas shocks.

A lot depends on your front suspension 2wd or 4wd. If it was 2wd I would buy nothing but German.

The rears are over rated, idc what anyone says. Your springs carry all the load, I've had similar performance from billisteins, rancho, and kyb's on and off road on the rear.

The Rancho 9000xl are 10way adjustable as well.

I have the KYB Monomax's and I'm happy with them. The price was right
