Replacing a blend door motor

Default Replacing a blend door motor

My blend door motor is not working, has anyone replaced one. I called the dealer and told them that my defrost is stuck and I have no control of changing it to the floor,panel, long story short it is stuck in the defrost. I was told to replace the blend door motor but after reading some posts there is also a acuator what do I do, Please help!!!!

You might just have to tare it apart see. Could be either or. Hard to tell unless you're looking at how it works.

For years the controls were vacuum actuated and the fail safe was defrost, (vacuum actuator spring loaded to defrost). I see for my 2002 it it electrically actuated. If yours is vacuum, look for a break in the vacuum hose below the battery.

the motorand actuator are one in the same if you are pretty good will tools it aint that bad. be careful taking it out though some of them get dried out and break a piece off the plenium.
