Replacement Grill
My honeycomb grill is faded and dated.
Has anyone replaced theirs with a slat style like this? https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?m...2F170646082572 Is it allot of work? Thanks! |
Those usually just clip on top of current grill.

Easiest thing to do is pop out the honeycomb or tape it off and spray paint it black. Lots of people have done that on here.

How about original color? Little plastic tabs are brittle, be careful |

I believe mine is gray. Black may be the way to go. I've had good luck with Krylon plastic paint though it takes a long time to fully cure.
To remove the grill do you just take off the top access panel above the radiator? |

I've only ever seen black on honeycomb. The 97/98 grills were gray but I've not seen a gray honeycomb grill... only a badly faded black grill that looked gray lol.

I painted mine black since it was faded and have no regrets. |

take the radiator cover offs and there is some bolts to remove, also have to remove the headlights and take out a few more bolts. Then the whole surround comes off and you can pop off the honeycomb from the Tabs on the grill shell. There's a few good YouTube videos showing step by step. I did it a few years ago so my memory may be fuzzy
Yeah not denying gray is out there. Like. I said 97/98 was gray so it makes sense some newer ones were gray too. Also not seen anyone who's painted theirs go with gray. Everyone goes with black. Just looks cleaner IMO I painted mine black since it was faded and have no regrets. |
