replaced fuel pump. And now the same problem.
2000 4.2L and it quit running abrubtly. Mechanic said it was the fuel pump. So they replaced it. I drove it about 60miles. Stopped running abrubtly again just like before. Anu ideas on whats causing this? Thanks guys.

Are you positive it's not getting fuel? Mechs like to throw parts at problems... especially on your dime. First make sure your pump is actually dead. You can press the Shrader valve on the rail to see if you have pressure. You can turn the key to run and see if you Hear the pump priming. Once you've deduced what your actual problem is we can go from there.
Also dumb question but it happens... are you sure you have gas in the tank?

When I turn the motor over it will catch just enough to sputter a little, it shakes the truck like it’s really struggling, I wouldn’t call it actually running, just sputtering a little and then it dies.

One possibility is you've got rust or gunk in the tank and the screen filter on the pump is clogging up. That's low probability but still a chance that's your problem. You can also rent a fuel pressure gauge for free from auto zone and see what PSI you get.
There's a slight chance you got a defective pump off the shelf... it does happen to people.

I have seen THREE Borg Warner pumps take the proverbial turd within 100 miles. Any idea what brand he used?
