I just came to a stupid and shocking realization.
I hadn't even thought of testing my compression...
My truck is guzzling coolant right now, but I had assumed that was because my heater core is going out (another project that awaits me).

I just installed them all yesterday, now it sounds ok at idle but once I put it in gear it idles really low and I have less power than a 4banger unless I put the pedal to the ground.

Ideas? The truck has been sitting for the past month so I was pretty pumped to have it running... I just want it running well now!!

did you replace wires aswell or just plugs?

check your carpet on passenger side under dash, towards hump in floor, see if its wet or stained brownish green, thats where your heater core would leak if its letting coolant out. if so you need to bi pass the heater core so it will stop leaking till you can fix it and save your interior

I must be confused bc I have coil packs and plugs. No wires. I'm curious as to what wires you replaced. Coil packs are bitchy and could be going bad and misfiring long before you get a code. Check your plugs again, gap, and if neither of those are the issue then you probably have a coil pack or two going bad. It will get worse and eventually throw a code.

5.4L have COP 4.6 and 4.2 have plugs and wires. If your using up coolant check your oil might have a leak into the motor

I just dropped my truck off at the dealership for a diagnostic test or I'd take a picture and show you. I thought I had COPs too, but the guy a O'Reilys said I had coil packs.
I changed the wires running to the plugs and the boxes they plug into
which look like this http://compare.ebay.com/like/3802473...=263602_304662

No spill on the carper, but my heater barely works.. blow almost lukewarm air.
