Default All electrical power lost?

I have a 97 and the other morning driving to work the stereo started going on and off and then everything went out? Lights inside and outside everything? Put new battery in and checked alternator to make sure it was charging and all seemed to be good for a couple of days then it happened again? Any ideas on what the problem might be?

Thanks,

Bill

MEGA fuse issue ...my guess. Ford did away with them completely in 99...way too many problems. I never had any problems but I switched to higher gauge MEGA . They don't bend and crack the solder ball very easily. BUSS Fuse company sells them.

You could also have numerous bad grounds as well. Once in awhile you have to go through the grounds, clean them up and replace the busted straps.

Sounds more like an alternator that isn't charging and the battery is simply running down.

I bought one of these a long time ago and it helped me to diagnose a similar issue on one of the SHOs I had back then. Turned out to be an intermittent alternator that didn't trigger the warning light in the cluster when the charging function dropped out.
